Anna dello Russo and Deacon's hat!

We all know extravagant style of Anna dello Russo and her unique hats become even year more exaggerate for the ball organized by Carine Roitfeld. During 2010 Anna wore a nice hat by Gareth Pugh and for this year she wore an hat by Stephen Jones for Giles Deacon. The hat is made by a red bird that could seem funny but it's really cool with the black Alberta Ferretti dress that she wore. The Giles collection was amazing and the hat is just perfect for that show, on Anna was so beautiful I like her unconventional fashion. Sometimes people find ridiculous her fruits hats or her outfits but I think that is amazing her courage that allows her to wear clothes directly from the runway and which are always innovative. If we pay attention to her style we can easily notice that she is always very balanced, in this case we can see the red hat matched with that simple black dress: extravagance-simplicity. The overall look appears cool and youth with the "dead bird" that could look "creepy" but is just right for that event.

Jan Taminiau...couturier or crazy designer?

Jan Taminiau born in Netherland in the 1975 and he worked near a lot of important designer, in particular close Oliver Theyskens. we could see a lot of Theyskens influences in his collections. I knew it with this very particular pic of Lady Gaga who wore a creation of him. So, I decided to take more information about his past collection. I discovered (at least for me that I didn't know him) a new designer which owns a very personal style that is a mix of gothic, elegant, chic and "classic couture" style: the result? Ethereal women that have a big knowledge of themselves. But, as all the best designers, he is also very eclectic... In fact he presented collections full of historical referrements (the empire one....is gorgeus!) or volumes. In the "check, check, mate!" collection we can see an evolution of the british style (I'm thinking ot Vivienne Westwood clothes) that is going to the couture world. I love his high-fashion approach and his desire to overtake the classical borders of couture.
In the end, you can see first of all Lady Gaga, then his shows: some of them are r-t-w ones and some of them couture ones... I suggest you to watch all the shows on his website.

Catherine Malandrino...f/w 2010

I believe that the soft shapes, the wonderful use of the fur, the mix between the different kinds of fur and the idea to put together technical texture and wool make this collection so amazing. In particular pay attention to the ruches, the harem pant and the volumes that are developed on the mini dresses: everything so chic, that remind us the "Belle Epoque" period. Also interesting the print that comes out from the mini dress.

John Galliano...f/w 2010

I believe that Galliano is divided into two parts: one that he expresses at Dior and another one, more creative and trasgressive, that he expresses in his personal line.
The show is caracterized by a lot of volumes, that Galliano obtained with the absence of any structured kind of clothes. He continued on the "russian inspiration" of the last season and for the evening he expresses himself as I told before. The dresses are so sensual and with a lot of transparence: a new concept of sensuality, the classic Galliano sensuality, that is between the past and the present. Also interesting the contrast with the "sportly-chic" shoes and wonderful the idea to put the feathers on the ruches of the pink dress!

Emilio Pucci printed...skirt!

This skirt of Emilio Pucci is the symbol of the most spread and interesting trends of our epoque: the prints. In fact, we could see Erdem, Prada, Williamson, Custo, Proenza Schouler, Gucci, Marni, Versace... And especially on the red carpets we see how a colorfull print could refresh and make interesting a boring look. So Pucci before with Williamson and now with Peter Dundas is everywhere on every stars. This skirt shows one of the infinitive Pucci's print and maybe this is the most common Pucci print. The hem with a contrast print is truly particular because draw a special silhouette on this maxi skirt that, as we seaw some day ago, is a trend of this season.

Haider Ackermann...f/w 2010

I love the Ackermann vision of the fashion. I'm every time surprised by the volumes and the geometries, the shapes that he creates with the leather. Here we can see an amazing example about the use of the laser. The evening dress comunicates a new sensuality based around cut-out leather floreal long dress, mysterious women and oversize coat. Yes, the beautiful thing of this collection is the contraddition that is present in it: the slim fit of the mini dresses and of the pants and the oversize wool coats. The black coats and the oversize, asimmetric, dresses give a sense of mystery that makes these women simply wonderful.
 Furthermore the sofisticated and particular use of the fur is so new.

Handbags...Marras f/w 2010

I saw this handbag in the accessories of the f/w 2010 shows of Antonio Marras. The italian designer, known for his role at the direction of Kenzo, realized a very nice handbag that is a bit ismilar with the Fendi Peekaboo. By the way, I believe that the patchwork of the same material (but in different colors) and the vintage flower on the bag represent perfectly the "Marras aestethic". Furthermore ,is interesting the handle: a chain that has in the middle black lather. The leather "helps" to make the  gold chain more youth and new. 
I have to say that my favourite one is the last one: I totally fall in love with every object that matched red and black together. (Or better dark red and black....).
I have only one question to think about...How does it cost and where it is sold?

Etro...f/w 2010

Etro si famous for its prints, in this show it uses a lot of them. The evening dresses and the daywear ones are caracterized by those prints that are matched with gold colors and sweet shapes. Furthermore, Veronica Etro decided to change a bit the "Etro style" with the addition of some ethnic elements like animalier prints. Then, she uses the fur to underline the elegant (vintage style mixed with something fo the "dandy" ones) style of the "Etro woman". In the end the "double cocktail dress" that is divided into two parts : the first one is red and the second is printed with paisley print (caracteristic of Etro). 
About the accessories I was fascinated by this handbag: with fur and leather, very glamourous.

Dior Homme...jackets!

Dior Homme, or better Van Assche, realized these amazing jackets. The first is a wool coat that is interesting for its belt (also used in this f/w 2010 by Prada) and for the softness. The second is a wonderful jacket really "adherent" on the body and in the end that amzing jacket that has into itself a scarf. In fact, the "new idea" is about the insertion of a scarf  into a jacket. I'm fascinated from the wonderful use of cachemire and wool made by Dior Homme. Love it!

Tao Kurihara...skirt!

I chose this skirt because the prints and the patchwork are two trends of this winter; but it's unusual to find these trends in the same cloth. In particular, I love the ethnic taste of the colorfull print matched with the "strong" black border that breaks the vintage style of the skirt.

Tom Ford....so glamourous!

Tom Ford is so many times nominated for his parfumes, his Gucci's period as creative director, his sunglasses, his film A Single Man (amazing film...) and, after this film, his omosexuality. But why many times don't the people speak about his menswear collection (and, from september of this year also womenswear, for which we are all dying for seeing it...)??
His tipical man is a very sexy man with big sunglasses and very classic suites that are made interesting by details: like creative prints (especially squares) and floreal pochettes... It's like a "contemporary" dandy that gives the inspiration, and maybe takes tha inspiration, to Ford. The jacket are very casual producted with fine materials like suede and leather... And this year there are also very youth jackets: the shorter ones, with squares patterns too, that have a taste of sportly-chic as they are inspired to the ski world.

Rodarte...skirts from f/w 2010!

When I saw these skirts I couldn't avoid to show you them...They are a bit expensive but please go on and look about their perfection. The vintage style of them, made by Rodarte, is mixed with a sense of movemente that it's so strange and unusual in "vintage inspired" clothes. But it's useless to speak abotu any kind of style when we speak about Rodarte: it has its style and it's truly stupid try to put it in a "classic style".

Joseph Altuzarra...f/w 2010

Joseph Altuzarra is one of the more interesting up and coming designer. He put in this collection the most importan trends of this f/w: cut-out dresses, bondage dresses, leather clothes, assimmetric geometries, structured clothes....I also invite you to see all his past collections and if you desire to search in google "Altuzarra Anna dello Russo" you'll find a great interview made by that amazing woman!
In the end, a gossip news: do you know that he stay with Alexander Wang?

Maxi skirts...trendy!

For this f/w 2010 we can see a lot of maxi skirts. They are of all kinds: from the "gothic" one made by Demeulemeester, to the printed of Erdem and Cavalli and in the end the metallic of Jacobs and Karan. In a period, like our is, where the designers purpose almost every time mini skirts and mini dresses, especially in winter is interesting, from my point of view, seeing more "textile" on the women's bodies. I believe that the long skirts are not "old" clothes or vintage but are very contemporary. Furthermore the different purposes of designer allow the customers to choose between a lot of skirts that are right for almost  every style...(except the "streetwalkers" style...).
Especially the details make this skirts contemporary as a mini-skirt could be.
